Onto Raises USD 1 Million in Pre-Seed Funding, Launches Hotel Price Refund Feature
Bengaluru-based travel startup Onto has launched its Price Drop Refund feature alongside raising USD 1 million in pre-seed funding. Find out how its hotel price monitoring system could help travellers save after booking.
The funding round was led by Stargazer Fund and co-led by Singapore-based White Venture Capital, providing early-stage backing as Onto enters the travel market with its customer-focused offering.
The platform's key feature, Price Drop Refund, automatically refunds travellers the difference if hotel prices fall after booking. The feature also covers eligible bookings made through other platforms, extending its price-monitoring functionality beyond reservations made directly through Onto.
By monitoring hotel prices after a booking, Onto seeks to help travellers benefit from subsequent price reductions without having to repeatedly check rates themselves. If a booking meets the feature's eligibility requirements and the hotel price drops, the platform automatically refunds the difference.
The launch combines Onto's travel service with a mechanism intended to reduce the financial impact of price fluctuations after hotel reservations. Its ability to cover eligible bookings made on other platforms also broadens the feature's potential application for travellers who book accommodation through different channels.
With USD 1 million in pre-seed funding and the launch of its Price Drop Refund feature, Onto is entering the travel sector with a model centred on post-booking hotel price monitoring and automatic refunds. The platform's offering places the focus on helping travellers capture eligible price reductions even after their hotel reservations have been confirmed.
